Kirk L. Wehrspan, DC, CCEP

Dr. Wehrspan graduated from Algona High in 1991 as Valedictorian of his class. After completing his undergraduate studies at Iowa State University he received his DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1996. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and in recognition of his academic excellence at Palmer, the college designated him as a Presidential Scholar. He was also inducted as a member of Pi Tau Delta, an international chiropractic honor society. Dr. Wehrspan is an active member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society. He is a Past President of the South Central District and was previously named an Iowa Chiropractic Society Outstanding Member.

Dr. Wehrspan has completed a certification program offered by the Council on Extremity Adjusting and is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). The course of certification he completed required extensive training in the following subjects: Upper and Lower Extremity Adjusting; TMJ Disorders; Rib and Shoulder Girdle Injuries; Foot, Gait, and Orthotics; Extremity Rehabilitation; Soft Tissue Methods for the Extremities; and Global Assessment of the Extremities. As a CCEP, Dr. Wehrspan is trained to pinpoint and treat root causes of pain in the spine and extremities. He is equipped to successfully treat TMJ syndrome, rotator cuff syndrome, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, hip bursitis, knee arthritis, sprained ankles, shin splints, foot complaints, abnormal gait mechanics, and many other extremity and spinal ailments.

Dr. Wehrspan has also received post-graduate certification in the treatment of whiplash as well as numerous other continuing education classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced chiropractic care.

Dr. Wehrspan has been married to his wife Angela for over twenty years. They have four children - Ally, Colin, Lauren, and Elliot. Dr. Wehrspan and his family are active members of West Des Moines Christian Church. Dr. Wehrspan's hobbies included RV camping, anything related to the Minnesota Vikings, listening to music especially on vinyl and cassettes, as well as cleanliness!
